Begin with a warm welcome in Machame, home to the Chagga people on the southern slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro. Learn how daily life revolves around banana groves and coffee plants as hosts share stories, songs, and customs passed down through generations.

Set out on a gentle guided walk through village paths and forest trails to Ntondolo Caves, historic lava tunnels once used for shelter, then continue to the serene Nkosalulu Waterfalls, a refreshing oasis fed by mountain streams.

Back in the village, join local “mamas” for a farm-to-table cooking experience, preparing a traditional meal over firewood with fresh garden ingredients. The afternoon ends with a joyful bean-to-cup Chagga coffee ceremony—roasting, grinding, brewing, and sharing coffee with song and dance.
