Welcome to Mount Kilimanjaro National Park
Kilimanjaro National Park a protected area in northern Tanzania, managed by Tanzania National Parks (TANAPA) and designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The park is home to Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain and the world’s tallest free-standing volcanic massif, rising to 5,895 meters (19,341 ft).
The park covers the mountain above the montane forest zone and protects a remarkable range of ecosystems, from rainforest and heath to alpine desert and arctic summit conditions. While Mount Kilimanjaro is best known as a trekking destination, Kilimanjaro National Park also plays an important conservation role, safeguarding water catchments, endemic flora, and wildlife adapted to high-altitude environments.
Each year, tens of thousands of visitors enter Kilimanjaro National Park to climb the mountain via established routes such as Marangu, Machame, Lemosho, Rongai, and Northern Circuit. Entry, climbing permits, rescue services, and park regulations are administered by TANAPA in coordination with licensed trekking operators.Kilimanjaro National Park (KINAPA)Official Website
